Tired... of food ;p

There's alot of things for me to write... Just dont have the energy =__= Somehow just feel really really tired x_x
Went back to old maplesea ;p but its just to kill time la hehe

Got someone suggested to me to post on comfort food (sounds like comfort woman hor? (-_-); hehe lame n cold joke ;p)

I really got no idea what is comfort food le... So went to my gd friend dictionary.com n this is what turned up...

comfort food
n : food that is simply prepared and gives a sense of wellbeing; typically food with a high sugar or carbohydrate content that is associated with childhood or with home cooking
n : Food that is simply prepared and associated with a sense of home or contentment

Hmmmm...home cooked food? or food which makes u feel comfy? hehe
If its the later, think most of the food i stuff into my mouth would be considered "comfy" liao keke

Anyway I've gota screw my friend whom told me to post about comfort food liao...

After which go back, instead of sleep, i LS la kekeke =__= coz the lactose too high liao @_@ not used to drinking milk la ;p

Ox tail stew @ Hard rock cafe's , only on wed lunch. Very nice, the original idea which made me came up with my own ox tail stew la keke
Truffle entrie @ Prego's ... 1 word, WUDI! Is this a mushroom? lol
Ice cream gallery's durain ice cream, mago orange ice cream, soursop sherbet, etc etc... or is it their gelara? keke
Chilli crabs @ Fishermen's village, duno which stall lor it is a long time ago when i had it, way before it was hip n hot!
Grilled cod don @ wasabi tei, even if the fish is chao tah (burnt) n the service SUCKS major but this is a memorable place for me, once had to finish cod nabe, moriawase...
Katsu sauce, Fried ebi head @ Tonkichi, Yummy! We all missed this which was in the chef's recommendation lists =(
Curry Asam Fish head @ Teacher's College, very nice n spicy fish head n the chicken wings =) Yummy! kekeke

Stir fried curry lamb bits @ Asian village in BJ, the fiery dry curry taste wasn't able to warm the cold unholy aura from across the table (~_~);


To me, it isnt the food is solid or wudi la, but its the company u eat it with lor.
The above food i had was with my family n best friends, very very very memorable...
So if any of u guys been there with me, u would know u are special n important to me

No matter where u r, u would always be in my heart n mind...

But if comfy food is home cooked food hor, surprise surprise...

I find simple food quite nice n appreciating lor, my mama used to make simple fare
just a simple dish of kai lan in oyster sauce n lots of garlic bits would make me feel satisfied! hehe
Another of my mama's cooking is this brinja, mince meat n egg fried till dry, coz i hate slimmy food! hehe

This is what my mama prepared for dinner the other day =)

It's just an flour-omelette n inside is minced meat with lots of vege la =) Yummy something which i was fond of since young lor hehe

Even shirlost's chiong peanut butter french toast is also heavenly! hehe

I'm not a gourmet la, just someone whom loves the feeling of a warm tummy filled with nice food =) kekeke

Now i dont get the feeling of warmth home cooked food filled with love... I really missed food cooked by a loved one...
something which money can never buy, nor can the countless effort i put in ever reap the rewards i wish for...

Ya lor my ex also cannot cook ;p keke

Just dawn on me...

I've yet to get any x'mas pressie for the rest ~__~;
Siao liao la! Too involved to notice I've yet to do so lor, diaoz...
Buy for gers easy la, but for guys hor... wah kauz! *pengz*

This morn gota wakeup call from AB, telling me to meet him at sin min coz he wana pass me my x'mas pressie. I was like huh? Oh shit didnt get anything special for him yet hehe

So i gave him what I bought latest la =D a IDE-to-USB adaptor cable, since i know he tinkles with alot of hardware stuff lor

Looks like my co gift exchange they aint able to get me the Bochox liao la hehe but nvm lor in the beginning i wasn't really expecting to get anything anyway. Had to play along la else kena label as not-sporting etc etc lor keke
I haven't told anyone yet, but there's a high chance I won't be able to make it for the gathering x_x due to some stupid last min work issues again, its either i burn friday and this weekend or next weekend.

Both weekends also holiday n co still wan me to clear leave/off where got time la. Working on either weekend also have to claim off days man sianz -.-; lousy x'mas...

This is an encounter on another time when a friend of mine asked me to tag along to help him choose a gift for his gf...

What happened was he also asked another female friend to come along n give advice la, after choosing the gift. His friend was suggesting a way of giving the gift

I'm stonning all the while, lost...
HIM : "No la this isnt my pattern"

I TL liao lor and gave some suggestions to emphasis on her point of view lor, till my friend diam diam liao kena cornered, he knows he has lost n put up white flag ;p

The Promise... ? Zhun Bo? lol

Wa just saw this movie and found it to be an all in one movie! Really le, let's see got romance, comedy, action, great choreography, superb 3D. Great if you like rojak kind of shows lor! hehe

AKA, jack of all trades, master of none.

Guess most of u would have already watched it n enjoyed it liao lor hehe

I find certain part of the show really touching lor, especially the waterfall part
where Kunlun told ChengQing "你要好好的活下去,不可以死..." what made it more touching is the way he held out his hands to hold the princess lor. No need see the whole show and I already know this is already one of the most touching scene, coz few sec later he jumped down the waterfall x_x

For most part of the show the princess was in love with the wrong guy, what i find is the most touching scene was near the end when she found out KunLun was the guy at the waterfall n he was going to be sentenced to death on behalf of her other lover.

Gota agree this guy would do anything for her ok! Include dying two times for her...

After which I didnt really bother liao and it was slip-shot affair where they were like trying to tie up all the loose ends in the end...

Interesting facts we found out... from this show hehe

If u run on all four limbs you could outrun a horde of bulls!
You can actually fly a person like a kite wearing a suit of feathers!
IF u run fast enough, you can go back into the past
Do nto steal other ppl's bread or buns! Very high chance they would hate you for LIFE!

There are still some stupid n foolish guys whom would do anything for the woman they love!(Like me hor? kekeke)

Oh well, another show on my to watch list would be "A Chines Tall Story" remake of journey to the west with lots of twists, funny, think there's also a love story in it. Which i find quite touching from the trailer, think the female lead is the ugly devil ger whom was abandoned in the beginning, touched a cord in my heart.

On the way home saw this guy trying to break a record, World record for scuba diving the longest.

1UP for this guy! Khoo Swee Chiow, think he has like abt 80 hrs to go! Hehe
So guys got free time go n give him some support la! =)

Grow up, already. Get positive

I was counting on ShirLost to help me scan this article off the December bumper issue of Her World, but instead of scanning she gave me the whole article (x_x) Me no scanner so gota type this whole thing out lor (@_@) diaoz...

Cut out that world-weary air. People who have really been there and done that come out singing. Listen as IVY ONG-WOOD gets perky.

Don't we all have a friend like this? Tell her you're pregnatn and she says: "Prepare to give up your social life for 20 years." Tell her that property prices are so low she can afford her condo now and she sighs: "Yes, but I still must fork out the 5 per cent downpayment."

Compliment her on losing weight? "My clothes don't fit anymore." If you were to say "have a nice day", she'll snap back: "Yeah, right."

I have a friend like that, who's adult as an adult can be - in her 30s, with a place of her own, and heads a team of eight people at work. When it comes to tackling deep dinner conversation or fighting intricate fires at work, she has us all beat.

Pity she has to spoil it all when she unleashes her stream of negativity. She thinks the cynical, life's-a-bitch act is a sign of maturity but instead, she comes off looking like a pouty, angst-ridden teenager - everything is "no", "shan't" and "you don't understand". Your hand just itches to smack her out of her smug world-weariness.

Ironically, if she were a little more positive, she might actually come across as a lot more grown-up - because optimism is a telling sign of maturity. Psychologist and confidence speaker Jerome Murray notes in this website, www.betteryou.com, that one of the marks of emotional maturity is "the capacity to relate positively to life experiences". So the more mature you are, the more cheerful you get.

He adds: "A mature person views life experiences as learning experiences and when they are positive, she enjoys and revels in life. When they are negative, she accepts personal responsibility and is confident she can learn from them to improve her life. When things do not go well, she looks for an opportunity to suceed. The immature person curses the rain while the mature person sells umbrellas."

To test his theory, I ask the more mature women I know whether this is true of them. All answer with a respounding yes and, in fact, the older they are, the louder the yes.

The oldest of the lot, housewife Esther Huang, who's in her 60s, says: "One has to go through the journey of life and survive the storm - experience failure and success, love and hate, ups and downs, sorry and joy - before you can be confident that the future can only get brighter and happier."

Always look on the bright side
Some women are lucky to be born optimists. Bridget Lew is one of them. The president of Humanitarian Organisation for Migration Economics, which helps maids and construction workers, has seen some of the worsr cases of maid abuse and forced prostitution in Singapore - which could turn even the most cheerful of social workers cynical about human nature.

But not Bridget. Everytime I meet her, it's about yet another maid who has been cheated or ill-treated, but never once have I heard her say: "I can't take it anymore." The 56-year-old explains in her cheerful manner: "Maybe I am too much of an idealist for my own good. Bad things happen but I believe that, by helping people, I can make the world a better place."

If only it could be as instinctive for the rest of us mere mortals, for whom a lack of taxis at 11.30pm can only mean that drivers are waiting for more expensive night surcharge. How can we stop being so cynical about life? It comes with experience, says Nominated MP Geh Min, who's also an eye surgeon. "I think some people are naturally optimistic; I'm not one of them. But being positive is something you can train yourself to be."

The first step is to stop thinking that the world revolves around you, as teenagers often do. Says Esther: "I used to think that the world revolved around me and society had to change to suite my purposes. This misconception had cause me to see the world in a pessimistic light."

"Optimism is a telling sign of maturity. The more mature you are, the more cheerful you get."

With experience, you will realise that some things can never change, so you rethink your attitude instead. Recalls Youth@Aware president Harmin Kaur Gill: "In my teens and 20s, I was really pessimistic. If anything bad ever happened to me, like failing exams or not being asked out by a boy I liked, I always thought I had it the worst."

But now, the 28-year old is calmer and happier. "I didn't change overnight but I think that as you grow, you come to see the bigger picture and no matter how bad something is, you know it happens for a reason."

Her philosophy now is "if my toenail falls off, as it does quite often, I console myself by thinking that at least I have a toe". Her determined optimism stood by her in good stead two months ago, when she discovered lumps in her breasts. "If they appeared in my early 20s, I'm sure I would have thought it was the end of the world.

When you're chewing on life's gristel, Dont grumble, give it a whistle. And this'll help things turn out for the best. So always look on the bright sure of life...

"As it was, I panicked of course - that was natural. But then, I asked myself: What's the worst case scenario? If it were canser, it would still only be at Stage 1. There were lots of women out there who were at stage 3 so I should stop worrying so much." Thankfully, the lumps were not cancerous.

Don't worry, be happy
When I tell my cynical friend about optimism being the mark of maturity, she gives me a cynical (but of course) look and counters: "I'll bet those people really haven't had anything bad happen to them. That's why they can be so cheerful."

Well,actually, it's not a case of ignorance being bliss. Quite the oppotise, in fact. The most positive women are those who have faces the lowest of lows and emerged saying life is still worth living. "Afters you've been through hell and back, you realise it can only get better from here," says Harmin.

You can only imagine what Nanz Chong-Komo, for example went through in 2003. Now a business trainer, she watched her once-thriving One.99 business collapse and had to battle bankruptcy while worrying about the family expenses.

She had just given birth and both she and her husband were jobless (he had quit his job to help her out in her business) for a couple of months. Yet, when I met her then, she still had a sunny smile and "things could be worse" attitude. My sympathetic: "How are you holding up?" was met with a quick smile: "I'm quite happy to get so much time to spend with my kids."

The secret is to keep things in perspective. "Despite everything that happened, I still consider my life to be easy," Nanz, 37, tells me chipily. "There are many more people out there with thougher lives, I am so much more blessed."

For Esther, it was her health. She found she had breast cancer in 2002, and thought she was going to die. But she told herself every day when she woke up: "I still have today."

You don't need to have life-changing experience liek theirs to get to that same level of maturity, though. Says Dr Deh Min, 55: "Solving problems rather than allowing them to wear you down, gives you more confidence. As you mature, you develop that emotional confidence, which gives you a better perspective in life."

The sun will come out
Above all, the on thing that all my interviewees agree on is this: They're more positive as they grow older because they realise that their life on Earth is growing shorter. Teenagers have a whole lifetime ahead but no someone in her 50s, so why waste it by being self-defeating? Says Dr Geh Min: "When you get older, you realise you have only one life. Look around - people who are optimistic about life are happier whatever their circumstances, whereas pessimists are always discontented. If you have only one life, don't you owe it to yourself to live it happily?"

The importnat thing to remember is that staying positive is not a lonesome thing. Not everyone no matter how mature she is, has an umbrella for every storm cloud that rolls her way.

The solution? You need to surround yourself with positive peoplr. "I don't see it as a personal struggel," sayd Dr Geh Min, "It's a web of support."

Esther, for example, has a network of dragon-boating team members to cheer her on. "Life is never easy; nos is life fair," she says. "But you are the sower of your own life and your life will be a harvest what you sowed," she says.

Author Amy Tan once said: "If you cant change your fate, change your attitude." So I think I'm going to give my grumpy friend another chance to add some sunshine to her life. I optimistically believe she will not chew me up but wish me luck anyway. HW

Another bad day?
Here's how you can keep smiling:

Exorcise bad juju. Hang around negative people and you'll soon start feeling cynical yourself. Sorry, you've got to axe all pessimists from your group.
Look on the flip side. The next time you catch yourse;f thinking negative thoughtsd, consciously flip them over and try to find postivie ones to counteract them. Job getting you down? Aren't you lucky you still have a job?
Step back. It'll give you a bettyer perspective. Max out your credit card? It's not like loansharks are at the door - just cut back your spending till you get out of debt again. REmember, it's not the end of the world.
Fake it. Don't laugh - some psychologists actually use this in therapy. The rationale behind it is that if you fake something long enough, you'll soon start believing in it.
Wear yellow and orange. Psychological studies have shown that these are the two colours most likely to life your mood.
Go fly a kite. Or do something that will make you happy, like going to a karaoke, walking the dog or reading a book. The problem won't go away but at least you'll be in a better frame of mind to tackle it.


This article is from Her World December 2005 issue, nope i didnt seek for their approval ;p I dont think they would mind if this article really helps those in need of a change in their lives and also for those whom are optimisstic, it helps to recgonize and give those around them whom need the added sunshine...

Dont go about axing those around you whom are pessimistic. Everyone needs a helping hand, some alot more than others, being there for them selflessly is so much so important, you may not notice this, but it really means alot to those whom need you to be there.

I've got a friend whom gave me a helping hand, but it wasn't enough and she sort of axed me, but I dont blame her, coz she's also a pessimist and there's this limit to how much helping hand she could give. Just hope those whom are helping others out would continue giving those like me another chance, or more la... dont be so ngiao ok! ;p hehe

Also like to thanks all those whom have helped me or are still helping me get out of this pit which I dug myself in (~_~); I'm nearly out of it liao hehe

Just for kicks, i ordered this to be shared between the 4 of us hehe. This small bugger costs us like $3 ok! In it is a piece of katsu + sauce.

Is this meal good? Ok la, cant be compared to Tonkichi. Prices are abit high lor abt $9 ~ 14, pay abit more go eat Tonkichi la ;p hehe Dont think i would come back here again.

Two nice cutie plushies =)

Really happy day today! Why?

1. I settled everything with her liao, gave her the final gift, she's in the past together with my feelings. Wah really relieve all my burden liao hehe Feeling very light now!
2. First time tried my hands on the tikum machine n got two really beautiful cuties hehe (More on them later! Meow~!~!)
3. Took my first few pics with my T9 & compare w those taken on K750, not bad la =) (Just abit siong lor a 6MP picture take up 2.5MB of space! x_x compare to 2MP picture take up 500KB)

My day actually didnt turn up that well in the beginning eh, work screw up n in my mind is this heavy burden in my bag. Come back office still must wait 3hrs for her to come back office before i could give it to her! lol I didnt even bother asking her abt where she went nor about the email she wrote last night. I was actually damn pissed by her reply, it seems like free then can meet me up, machum like I'm her backup friend le hehe not as if I didnt gave her ample notice le, I told her 1 mth ago that i would be passing her the gift on that specific date and u can give me such an answer? hehe I really got nothing to say liao lor hehe

To me what's most impt is does she really understand the meaning of this gift? Does she understands the feelings, time n effort i put into getting this gift? Or to her it's just a pretty pendant, which any tom dick or harry could give to her? To her there's no special meaning for this gift? Only she herself would know.

Nah, I'm not mad about it la peeps =) I'm now laughing as I'm typing this out u know! hehe

Guys, now u know why I'm late liao hor! PS hor I got no choice have to settle this la hehe

Always go change $10 into $1 coins till the cashier also know me liao, crazy guy change so much! I was like keep changing n using, then no $ liao go draw somemore! hahaha

In the beginning it was quite mild la, play abit, walk around then come back try my luck on the big kitten machine =) The dog was also there trying his luck getting the big kitten lor. In the end he gave up ;p and i got it at last! Hahaha

Then i went and try my luck on the small kitten and got it in like $5?

Then comes the horrible part la, i went out of control n kept trying to go for the pooh-bor bear la. Alot of ppl was there looking at this guy, put dollar after dollar man... Think I may have spent above $40 on trying to get this plushie lor

Also during dinner time, paul-sible was ordering this strange sounding vegetable dish, called 奶白 (Nai Bai literally means milk white, but in this case think it means breast's white liquid x_x)

I was like WTF? wat's 奶白 and these freaking a$$h0l35 told me it means breast milk or tits =________=; dont make me gross out leh!

Really reminds me of some gross show in which the ppl ate pig's breasts x_x

In the end turn out to be this dish ^__^; Make me kia man! lol

The famous Bakerzin at last?

Rushed down to meet sis this afternoon for lunch, paisei la come back so long no meet her hehe ppl already complain the dog no go meet her liao ;p now i also no go find her? hahaha Woman ah! problem le! keke

So anyway this is what she had la, some spicy clam pasta. Crazy ger add tobasco sauce to it somemore le! x_x xiu do! But gota agree it gives an added dimension to the flavor lor


Myself i had some porkchip w pasta la, very tough porkchop lor x_x can take n throw at robbers ok! 1 hit KO! Confirm! keke

Portion damn blardy small la ;p like machum Happy meal lor ;p Me so big size where got enough eh? hehe

So... after which i went to call for desert la ;p hehe
Sis said order 1 enuff liao la, me still hungry le, so greedily ordered 3 instead! kekeke
But i didn't order tiramisu, kena screwed by her for not doing so! hahaha ;p

This is some secret pleasure la, lot of choco, heard the bean on top is very bitter. So i guessed it must be some coffee bean lor keke Myself i love the biscuit layer inside =)


Ordered this walnut cheese cake! Yummy! very creamy n very nutty texture hehe


This one i like =) Eclair keke actually its coz of this eclair then i go buy desert eh le hehe i see the oppo table ppl eat song song so i can't resist the temptation la keke

Oh well back to reality, got another "sticky" email to read/reply. Starting to dread reading emails, find it getting harder n harder to reply these difficult emails. In the beginning I await eagerly for the reply to arrive, but they never do... When at last it arrives, somehow I dont have the mood to read it.

Ironically the replies always come when the issue's long gone.

Past experiences tell me if i do reply saying I wont read the email coz its irrelevant as it's already over, i would get a sarcastic reply. -__-; If i was to give a proper reply, i would also get a sarcastic reply =__=;

Really duno how to reply such email le lol

But instead found this beauty on Corsica. Would plan a trip to Corsica somewhere in March before the Tokyo trip, just to kill myself! hahaha ;p

Well I was spoilt for choices for the Tokyo guide books la ;p got Lonely planet, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, Insight etc etc @_@ Tooooooo many liao~!~!
In the end I bought the Insight eh, coz seems like alot more detailed n cheap la but would get the small Lonely planet eh at a later date lor, coz Lonely Planet got seasonal information la x_x

Update, shirlost gave me some links on where we would be staying in =D and also some info on the MRT there! keke
